When it comes to body weight training, and exercises, the good old, push-up, gives you plenty ‘BANG FOR YOUR BUCK‘! Not only is it a difficult movement for lots of people, it also works several muscle groups in one go, plus you have so many variants to make the exercise more challenging, once it becomes easier.
One of the many issues that people face when performing the push-up, all begins at the set up. This is crucial to executing the movement correctly, safely, and working the main muscle groups that you’re supposed to be working.
In this short video I give you a break-down of the set-up, followed by a walk through on how to perform the exercise to best effect.
Remember, to NEVER compromise proper form & technique, over performing more reps. There are plenty of ways in which to progress the exercise once you have mastered at least 20 full push-ups. There will be a video to follow this one with a run through of some of the possible progressions.
